About PCH

A small company that's stayed small on purpose.

PCH Home Automation was founded by James Ness in 2014 after he'd spent more than a decade pulling low-voltage cable for someone else. He kept noticing the same thing on every job: clients wanted someone who would actually listen, then come back when the system needed a second look. So he started a company built around that.

A note from James.

I grew up in northeast Arkansas. My grandfather wired barns. My father wired hospitals. I wired apartment buildings out of high school, then commercial AV, then high-end homes. By the time I started PCH I'd worked in nearly every kind of building you can light up.

What I learned is this: the technology isn't the hard part anymore. The hard part is sitting at someone's kitchen table for an hour before you draw a single line on the plan — listening to how a family actually lives, and what they're tired of fighting with.

That's the only job I'm interested in doing. We've stayed small — two crews, a designer, and me — because that's the size that lets us answer the phone ourselves. If you call us, you'll talk to someone who has been to your house. That's a promise we don't plan to outgrow.

PCH technicians on a job

The crew

Five people you'll get to know.

Our team is small by design. Every PCH technician is W-2, drug-tested, and has been with us at least three years. Nobody you let into your home is a contractor we found last week.

What we believe

Five principles, in plain English.

Local first.

Your home should keep working when the internet doesn't. We build systems that run locally before they run in the cloud.

No surprise bills.

Our quotes are fixed-fee. If we missed something, that's on us, not on you.

No proprietary lock-ins.

We use open standards wherever possible. If you fire us tomorrow, your system still works.

Patch what you cut.

Drywall, paint, baseboards. We leave the room cleaner than we found it.

Answer the phone.

Two rings, business hours. The same number for ten years and counting.

Tune for free, the first year.

Routines change. We come back twice in the first twelve months at no charge.

Visit the office.

We share a building with a family-run print shop on Valley View Drive in Paragould. Coffee is on. Stop by — or set a time.
